RLH Properties Strengthens Its Commitment to Luxury Hospitality in Mexico

With a growing presence in Mayakoba, Mandarina and Los Cabos, the Mexican company is expanding a

portfolio that brings together some of the most prestigious names in international hospitality.

Mexico is experiencing a particularly dynamic moment on the global luxury hospitality map. Beyond the continued growth in visitor numbers, destinations such as the Riviera Maya, Riviera Nayarit and Los Cabos are attracting projects designed for an increasingly sophisticated traveler—one who values privacy, thoughtful design, exceptional cuisine, wellness and a meaningful connection to the destination.

Amid this evolution, RLH Properties has carved out a distinctive position within Mexico's high-end hospitality landscape.

The Mexican company currently holds a portfolio of hotels operated under some of the industry's most recognized international brands, including Rosewood, One&Only, Fairmont, Banyan Tree, Alila, Four Seasons and Park Hyatt.

Its presence now extends across three of Mexico's most important luxury tourism corridors: the Mexican Caribbean, Riviera Nayarit and Los Cabos.

More than a collection of prestigious hotels, RLH Properties' strategy offers a glimpse into where luxury hospitality in Mexico is heading.

Mayakoba Enters a New Chapter

In the Riviera Maya, Mayakoba remains one of the cornerstones of the RLH Properties portfolio.

The destination is home to Rosewood Mayakoba, Banyan Tree Mayakoba, Fairmont Mayakoba and Alila Mayakoba, complemented by private residences, golf and an extensive selection of culinary and experiential offerings.

One of its most significant transformations arrived this year.

On February 12, 2026, Hyatt and RLH Properties officially announced the opening of Alila Mayakoba, following the transformation of the former Andaz Mayakoba.

The opening also marked Alila's debut in Latin America and the Caribbean, a significant milestone for Hyatt and another step in Mayakoba's evolution as an internationally recognized luxury destination.

Alila's approach places nature, wellness and local culture at the center of the guest experience, drawing on one of Mayakoba's greatest assets: a remarkable landscape where mangroves, lagoons and the Caribbean coastline are woven naturally into the resort experience.

Its arrival also reflects a broader shift in the meaning of luxury travel.

Today's high-end traveler is no longer looking only for spectacular accommodations and impeccable service. Privacy, authenticity, wellness, gastronomy and a genuine connection to place have become increasingly important parts of the experience.

Mandarina Strengthens Its Position on Mexico's Pacific Coast

In Riviera Nayarit, Mandarina represents another key pillar of this strategy.

The destination is home to One&Only Mandarina and, since 2025, Rosewood Mandarina—two distinct hospitality concepts united by one defining principle: allowing the surrounding landscape to become an essential part of the guest experience.

Rosewood Mandarina officially opened in May 2025. Owned by RLH Properties, the resort features 134 accommodations, including suites and villas, positioned across mountain, beach and other natural areas within the development.

Rosewood's arrival expanded Mandarina's ultra-luxury offering while strengthening Riviera Nayarit's appeal among international travelers seeking less conventional destinations, greater privacy and experiences rooted in nature.

One&Only Mandarina, meanwhile, continues to earn international recognition. In 2026, it was among the Nayarit resorts recognized in Travel + Leisure's World's Best Awards, alongside other notable properties in the region.

Together, these elements have created a destination where hospitality, residences, nature, gastronomy and equestrian experiences exist within a single ecosystem.

Los Cabos Emerges as a Strategic New Chapter

RLH Properties' most significant recent expansion is now taking shape in Los Cabos.

In September 2025, the company completed the acquisition of a 51% interest in Cabo del Sol Holdings, owner of the Cabo del Sol destination in Baja California Sur.

The transaction added a collection of assets to the company's platform, including Four Seasons Resort and Residences Cabo San Lucas at Cabo del Sol, a 96-room-and-suite resort, as well as residential and golf assets.

The move substantially expanded RLH Properties' footprint in one of Mexico's most established ultra-luxury markets.

The company's portfolio also includes Park Hyatt Los Cabos at Cabo del Sol, further strengthening its position in the destination.

With these additions, RLH Properties now has a presence across three markets with distinctly different identities but one important characteristic in common: their ability to attract affluent international travelers.

Mexican Luxury Hospitality Is Entering a New Scale

Mayakoba, Mandarina and Los Cabos each tell a different story, but together they reveal a deeper transformation taking place within Mexico's tourism industry.

Mexico remains one of the world's great sun-and-beach destinations, yet its high-end hospitality offering is increasingly moving toward integrated developments where hotels, residences, gastronomy, golf, wellness and private experiences coexist within a single destination.

International hospitality brands are also raising the level of competition.

Four Seasons, Rosewood, One&Only, Fairmont, Banyan Tree, Alila and Park Hyatt each represent a different interpretation of luxury, yet all are competing for a traveler who expects far more than exceptional facilities.

Increasingly, the experience itself has become the true differentiator.

Mexico Gains Ground in High-End Tourism

For RLH Properties, this evolution represents a long-term commitment to the continued growth of Mexico's luxury and ultra-luxury hospitality sectors.

Its current portfolio illustrates how hotel investment is increasingly moving toward integrated destinations, where the value of a property is defined not only by the brand displayed at its entrance, but also by its location, natural surroundings and the experiences it can provide.

Mayakoba represents the strength of an internationally established destination. Mandarina reflects a new generation of developments immersed in nature. Los Cabos extends the company's reach into one of Mexico's most mature luxury markets.

Together, they create a compelling new geography for Mexican hospitality.

And perhaps that is the most significant story behind the expansion of RLH Properties: Mexico is no longer focused solely on attracting more travelers. It is also building destinations capable of competing for one of the most sophisticated and demanding segments of the global tourism industry.
