Marriott International Announces Leadership Change in Abu Dhabi: Hagop Tchaparian Appointed

Marriott Hotel Downtown Abu Dhabi and Marriott Executive Apartments have announced the appointment of Hagop Tchaparian as the new Hotel Manager, overseeing the day-to-day operations of both properties. The move reflects Marriott’s ongoing commitment to strengthening its leadership team in the UAE’s capital, where hospitality continues to play a pivotal role in the city’s growth as a global hub for both business and leisure travelers.

A Seasoned Marriott Leader

With more than 20 years of experience in the Middle East hospitality sector, Hagop brings a strong track record in sales, marketing, and commercial leadership. He has held senior positions across multiple Marriott brands, including his most recent role as Dual-Property Director of Sales and Marketing for The Abu Dhabi EDITION, Marriott Hotel Downtown Abu Dhabi, and Marriott Executive Apartments.

Prior to that, Hagop advanced through a series of leadership roles in Dubai, including at the Sheraton Grand Hotel Dubai, Marriott Al Jaddaf & Marriott Executive Apartments Al Jaddaf – Dubai, and The Dubai Marriott Harbour Hotel & Suites, where he spearheaded commercial strategies and cultivated long-term partnerships. His hospitality career began with Starwood Hotels, before joining Marriott International in 2007 — an organization that today operates more than 7,000 properties across 140 countries and territories under over 30 iconic brands.

For the past five months, Hagop has been serving as Interim Hotel Manager, guiding both properties through a transitional phase with a focus on operational stability, guest satisfaction, and stronger cross-departmental collaboration.
